When I bought my loom the previous owner had luckily stuck tiny labels to both ends of all the pieces so I knew what went where - otherwise it would still be in a heap!!

It will be lovely when it's all finished :)Charlottehttp://lottiesloomroom.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3635600553883200682.post-60005775195707852252009-11-06T08:44:54.068-05:002009-11-06T08:44:54.068-05:00Jennifer - the title was specifically to sound lik...Jennifer - the title was specifically to sound like those school reports!! I don't think I ever had to write one, but you never know!

Terri - I wish I liked working with wood. That would have made this process much more fun!!! It will be worth it for me when it's done....but it's just not something I love to do!

Delighted Hands - The picture shows lamms, shafts, jacks and treadles - lots of the moving parts that make up my loom. I understand looms so much better as a result of this project! That's one good thing about it!

SueLife Looms Largehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05522897791564181980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3635600553883200682.post-73028119820530790672009-11-06T08:38:57.370-05:002009-11-06T08:38:57.370-05:00Boring? I brought home an old Gallinger Loom yesterday and I'm excited this morning to give it a good cleaning and see what restoration work it needs. Enjoy the process. Looking forward to seeing your Toika when it's finished!Terrihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03501517292169705459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3635600553883200682.post-58521979457048466972009-11-06T08:37:24.603-05:002009-11-06T08:37:24.603-05:00It reminds me of the first day of school essays - ...It reminds me of the first day of school essays - not exactly the exciting trip to the Grand Canyon - but I'm sure you are greatly pleased with the result!Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05932533858016149807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3635600553883200682.post-84782499187479605982009-11-06T08:06:12.316-05:002009-11-06T08:06:12.316-05:00Okay, I can understand some of the pieces-teadles ...Okay, I can understand some of the pieces-teadles for example but what are ALL those sticks for?! But it deserves some attention since it had been neglected somewhere along the line - so none of your looms need to be jealous!!

I have it up and running with two shafts, and Jim is installing a shelf for me so I can store assorted lamms and shafts before I'm ready to use them.

And I still have probably 8 shafts and 6 treadles in the basement awaiting sandpaper. Watch, I'll be out in my driveway in the snow this winter sanding away!!

SueLife Looms Largehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05522897791564181980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3635600553883200682.post-85814029395892361812009-11-06T07:09:20.292-05:002009-11-06T07:09:20.292-05:00That is a whole heap of sticks!
