Good Influence

They say that people are influenced by whomever they surround themselves with.

These tomato plants are just a bit of evidence of how my blog buddies have influenced me.

After a 20 year hiatus from gardening, this year we planted 3 tomato plants (regular sized, cherry and Roma). And we're harvesting tomatoes daily.

We might be cheating a little by using the Topsy Turvy for two of the plants. So far, no signs of the heinous tomato hornworm...our nemesis last time we grew tomatoes!

Thanks to all of you gardeners out there who post about your gardening adventures, especially Colleen, Kelly, Leigh and Lynnette. (I know that as soon as I post this list, I'll think of 10 other bloggers with amazing and influential gardens!)

There isn't much that tastes better than a sun-sweetened, garden-fresh tomato! Glad you get to enjoy them!

Awesome about the tomatoes!! We've never tried upside-down tomato growing, but someone down the road from us made an awesome garden out of buckets, an old clothesline, and a lot of ingenuity - they're growing a whole bunch of plants upside down from the buckets, which are now hanging from the metal bars of the clothesline (which they painted sky-blue). It works great, looks amazing, and definitely keeps the critters away!! :) Colleen

I don't care for tomotoes myself but sure can appreciate the beauty of the healthy plants and bright, red fruit!

I don't think it's cheating at all! Anything that gets tomatoes! I wondered how well those topsy-turvies worked. Nice to see they do work indeed.

Mmmm! Home grown tomatoes. We're enjoying them this year too. It's so fun to go out and pick them when we need them and have them so fresh...and flavorful, unlike the ones in the stores.

Blogland is so inspirational! I love it! :-)
