A sharp-shinned hawk chasing the flock of nuthatches, chickadees and titmice.
Today he didn't catch any of our little seed eaters....at least not while we were watching.
Tomorrow, who knows?

Handsome and dangerous! Let's hope the little ones stay safe. No doubt everyone will be hunkered down some tomorrow with the storm hitting New England. Stay warm and safe Sue!
He is all puffed out with the cold (or the excitement of the hunt?!) Just look at that beak-perfect for hunting!
how wonderful to catch a photo of one! We have had a Merlin around and it is terrible to see the feathers flying.
I really like sharp close-up bird pictures - wish I could get some like that of the birds in our garden.
