What I liked about this project:
- Interesting and quick to knit
- Such a soft and comfortable end result
- I still LOVE this yarn
What I learned from this project:
- Sometimes I need to go through the project directions and make them my own at the beginning
What I'd do differently next time:
- Finish while it's still cold enough in my house to need to wear them (But not worries....it will be cold again next winter!!)
Yarn: Misti Alpaca Handpaint Worsted in color 035 (Inca Red)
Pattern: Velvet Curtain Gauntlets
Needles: Size 6
Amount of yarn: 1.75 oz (Less than 1/2 skein)
Finished size: 6.75 x 3.125 inches (length and width of gauntlet)
Pattern modifications: Cast on 2 extra repeats of pattern (42 stitches)
These seem to stay put pretty well. Since they have a thumb hole, but not really a thumb, I can push them back and use them as wrist-warmers when needed.
I might still have enough of this yarn left to knit another pair.

I think they're just beautiful -- the stitches and the color. (And the dog is cute too. I'm a real dog lover).
Have a wonderful weekend.
Beautiful! I am wearing mine even here in Florida today...so perhaps you'll get another day to wear yours this season. :)
Those gauntlets are great! And a great color too. My girls have taken all of the pairs I have made and left me with my least favs. They can also be worn over plain gloves for added funkyness.
Very pretty - I like the yarn a lot...and the pattern.
Is that dear sweet Bailey you are petting?
oh they're wonderful and I love the red!
Great color and texture-just an amazing knit you have accomplished!
NICE! Hmmm looks like I might get to making a pair just when I won't need them.
Bailey is looking handsome as always.
The Gauntlets are works of ART! And that color is delightful.
Thanks for the gauntlet compliments!!! I love them. (both the gauntlets and the compliments actually!)
I spoke a bit too soon when I said it was too warm for them now. I spent time outside this afternoon and came home freezing, so they definitely helped warm me up!!
Bailey's always happy to appear in my blog!! (Or maybe he's just always happy!)
Hope you have a great weekend!
Sue
I love them! I don't know the yarn but it sure is pretty. I've come to appreciate fingerless gloves and wear them more often than "real" ones. The problem is that I keep giving away every pair I make, so that I still only have one pair.
Beautiful! They look so luxurious and soft, and the pattern is just lovely!
Very, very pretty!!!! I love the deep rich color and stitch pattern.
They're beautiful! And I love the red.
They are beautiful! I love the brightness of the red, and red in winter is always welcomed.
I love the contract with the evergreen branch, too. Lovely pictures!
These are great!!! You know sometimes here the AC at work is too high and I would love something like this while I'm at the computer! Maybe you'll find a year round use as well!
I love these Sue! Start making and selling these! I love the red too. Missed reading my favorite blogs...I don't have a computer at the studio so I can't play with my friends! :(
HOpe all is well'
Laura.
