Ahhhhh!

So nice to be home, on a beautiful sunny spring day with a beautiful array of samples that I wove at Ruby Leslie's Color Workshop Monday - Wednesday.

The New Hampshire Weavers Guild put on a great workshop!!

Today will be a peaceful day at home, enjoying the sun, the blooming magnolia and letting the cascade of ideas from the workshop percolate into my brain.

There might also be some cleaning up, catching up, and definitely some running!!!

Wonderful samples from the color workshop, expect you will turn to them again and again in the future. Keeping them in sleeves in a notebook makes them so much more accessible. I like that advancing twill, too!

We had 12" of snow here a couple days ago, so I'll enjoy the spring magnolia photo you posted.

Lovely samples, thank you for the wonderful pics!
Can't wait to see what ideas surface from the workshop.

Sue, Did you weave any color blankets in the workshop, or mostly individual warps? Your advancing twill photo (that I like a lot, btw), looks like it might have had different color warp sections. An inspiring workshop in any case.

What lovely colourful fun, good to hear you've enjoyed the work shop and see your samples. As Janice has already said, I'm sure you'll find these samples a great resource. I wove some colour samplers last year and they are invaluable.

First - I'm jealous, really really jealous. Second, I love your samples and third, I'm really jealous. What a great shot in the weaving arm to have a workshop opportunity like that. I learn from books and online weavers and am thankful that you are sharing your knowledge. Thanks.

What a great array of samples, those will be very useful! I would love to go to a such workshop, but there is nothing like this here. The twill looks lovely!

Sue,

Wonderful work! You have been one busy girl! ...and I love the new look of your blog!

Great weaving!

Hi Sue, I don't see an email so will answer your question here. I do full my yarns to get the shrinkage done before I work with them. Judith Mackenzie recommended fulling them in alternating hot and cold baths and agitating with a small plunger.

I know that it's recommended that you not full yarns to weave with, but I often dye them so they're going to get fulled anyway.
