In honor of St. Patrick's Day, a little green.
My favorite pictures from our trip to Ireland in June 2006, when it did not rain at all. (Miraculous!)
Some green weaving. My latest little twill sample.
Try not to notice that I was lazy on the warping board - winding the green and white separately....
And that this draft isn't trying to look good.....it's trying to touch on a few different twill techniques so I can see how they look.
The green of Ireland is prettier!!
I'm getting spring fever.....these pictures make me want spring to arrive now!! I miss leaves and green grass!! Patience is a virtue I hear......one I must cultivate!

Hey, winding the colours separately isn't laziness, it's efficiency! And, as it also lets you design your stripes at the loom, it's extra creative. :)
Sounds good to me.....
Well, except for the part where I had to kind of mush and twist the yarn together to get them to interleave the way I wanted. There's probably a better way to do that!
But, hey, it's a sampler. I can be somewhat slapdash!!

I love your pictures of Ireland especially the sheep. How lucky to go to such a beautiful country.
It's your sampler and you can wind on the colors anyway you want.
Sue, you should have stopped and sheared that sheep. The fleece looks wonderful! Is that sampler currently on your loom? I would love to see it when it's done!
Loved the Ireland pix, it's somewhere I have always wanted to visit! Maybe someday...
When I saw that sheep, I wasn't as aware of spinning as I am now.....so I wasn't necessarily thinking yarn! Ireland is really beautiful and we had a wonderful visit.
The sampler is on the loom....I have a bit of warp left, and I have two new ideas that I want to try. But you can be sure I'll post about it when it's done!!

I love the "green" pictures, especially your weaving sample. Thank you for visiting my blog last week - I am glad I have found yours.
When I look at those pictures, I want to go biking very badly. The sampler colors look great!
