Tiger Swallowtail

Just playing around with lighting and background with this tiger swallowtail and the globe thistle, the most photographed plant in my garden!

Inspired by another NH blogger's visit from a dragonfly.

Beautiful!! Amazing what appears as soon as the sun comes out and the rain stops - the bees, butterflies, dragonflies - I love it!

So pretty-I'd say you did a fine job just playing around!

Lovely work, Sue. The thistles are such a dramatic shape that they're a natural subject, but your photography is coming along beautifully. I really like the lighting experiments.

Colleen, I meant to point to your blog post on the dragonfly as my inspiration. I saw the butterfly outside and wanted a photo!

I showed the photos to my husband Jim and told him what I wasn't happy about. He wants to show me a few things in photo shop that he thinks will help. Hopefully if his tricks work I can have a few new tricks of my own to apply to future photos!

Sue,
I've corrected a mistake I made on my blog discribing the weave structor of the dragonfly I have pictured. It's actually dukagang. Some time I just have to wonder about myself!!!!

I love your pictures!! The butterfly is beautiful. I hope to add globe thistle to my garden next year.

Sue - you're too kind. My son, when he saw your butterfly photos, said "those are so cool - I like those - I love them - I love butterflies - and whoever took those photos is cool!" That's about the biggest complement from my 6 year old you can get!! Happy nature photos, I think, are all good!!

Hello.
Its early morning here in Norway.
The daylight is breaking throug.
Its så silent outside.
Only the burds are making some noice.
The mist is dancing over the lake.
(sorry if im writing it all wrong, but il hope you understand what I mean)

I live in a verry beautiful place about 20 km north from the town Kongsvinger in Norway. The place is called Brandval. The lake is called Nuguren.
Im not sure of the longitud and latitud but its not that far up north.
If you look at map over Norway you will find me close to the Swedish border.
If you look on a Swedes map, try to find the town Arvika in Värmland.
Then you sure will find me....

We have one small cherrytrea here. Its so full of berrys so it broke. It was to heavy...
There is so much blueberrys and rasperberrys to. And I love it.

Loves from a sleapy Synne.

Il wonder, do you use the translataor on the bottom of my blog, or do you understand what im writing?
The translator is not always translating it right.
Hope my bad english writing is understandebul...

Colleen - thanks for the nice compliments from your son!! Too cool!

And Synne, thanks for worrying about my ability to read Norwegian (non-existant!). Luckily Google Reader attempts to translate for me....so if a blog has lots of pictures I can kind of follow along!

Uh, I wouldn't wait long to publish that third one! I'd say you're past the playing stage and should be broadcasting some of these photos far and wide!
