Weekend knitting on the screened porch! Bliss!!
After running out of yarn making my multi-directional diagonal scarf, I found coordinating yarn last week at a yarn store in Lowell.
First I tested knitting with sock yarn and new thicker yarn (Classic Elite Desert in a discontinued color). I knit 2 rows of sock yarn, then two rows of Desert yarn.
Looks good!
I experimented with changing yarn at the edge of the triangle near the middle of the scarf, or at the edge of the scarf. To my surprise, changing yarn at the edge looked better.
When I changed yarn in the middle, the yarn I was carrying forward left a big contrasting stitch sometimes. I didn't like how that looked.
Experiment over
Time to unravel
Back to the starting line
Is Bailey concerned by my powers of destruction?

I'm so happy you found the time to sit on your lovely porch and enjoy working on your knitting with Bailey keeping watch. Doesn't get any better than that.
What Barbara said :-)
I couldn't help thinking "sample, sample, sample."
Bailey looks curious and hopeful to me, maybe hoping for a treat or a walk. :-)
What a sweet face. The scarf looks good too. I like how the new yarn matches so nicely!
Hope your rain stops soon, ours has started again after a brief respite yesterday. I answered your questions on the book and such on the blog comments section.
All of my knitting is really a sample....because I inevitably frog at least part of it!
I try to think that just means I'll get more knitting pleasure out of that section of yarn....knit twice or more!!

What a great picture of Bailey! Take as many as you can - you'll appreciate them later!
I love the look of the fabric your sample was making. Wish it was possible to reach through the screen and touch.
So, what's the next step?
Good reminder about the Bailey pictures Jennifer!
And Valerie....I have started knitting the scarf again, so stay tuned for an update!
